SaaS and legacy-platform modernization
An important production platform needs to evolve without destabilizing customers, revenue, or ongoing product delivery.
Consulting & Contract Engineering
I take on a limited number of contract and fractional engagements where a company needs experienced architectural judgment combined with hands-on implementation.
I am most useful when the system is important, the constraints are real, and the work crosses architecture, infrastructure, delivery, and production operations.
Strong-fit situations
An important production platform needs to evolve without destabilizing customers, revenue, or ongoing product delivery.
Cloud infrastructure has become difficult to operate, difficult to change, poorly understood, or is blocking future engineering work.
A backend system, processing workflow, integration layer, or architecture decision has become a bottleneck for reliability, performance, or delivery.
Recurring failures, weak observability, deployment risk, or performance issues are consuming engineering capacity and need senior technical ownership.
Enterprise identity, authentication, authorization, or tenant architecture needs to be designed or modernized inside an existing SaaS platform.
A migration, modernization, performance effort, or platform redesign needs temporary Principal-level technical leadership from someone who will also participate directly in implementation.
Engagement formats
A bounded review of a system, architecture, infrastructure environment, or modernization problem. The goal is to clarify the actual constraints, identify the highest-value risks and opportunities, and define a practical path forward.
Hands-on technical leadership and implementation for a specific modernization, migration, reliability, performance, authentication, or platform initiative.
Ongoing senior engineering capacity for teams that need architecture, troubleshooting, mentoring, technical direction, and implementation without immediately adding another full-time senior role.
Qualification
I am generally not a fit for generic feature-development outsourcing, low-cost staff augmentation, general IT support, outsourced engineering management, or generic strategy consulting that is disconnected from technical delivery and production reality.
Start with context
Send me enough context to understand the system, the constraints, why the problem matters, and what outcome you are trying to achieve. I will tell you directly whether the work looks like a strong fit.
